Banana...

Banana;containing three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or! Prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.
Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
Hangovers: One! of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body; so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system. Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to go! rging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.
Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
Strokes: According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine, "eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!
Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape! So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around.
PS Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time!

The story of Adam and Eve was being carefully explained in the children's Sunday school class. Following the story, the children were asked to draw some picture that would illustrate the story.Little Bobby was most interested and drew a picture of a car with three people in it. In the front seat, behind the wheel was a man and in the back seat, a man and a woman. The teacher was at a loss to understand how this illustrated the lesson of Adam and Eve. But little Bobby was prompt with his explanation. "Why, this is God driving Adam and Eve out of the garden!"

HOW TO IDENTIFY FAKE POLICEMEN AT A GLANCE

Hello all,

I received the following tips and I am sending the tips to you RAW.

Here are some tips to guide us in our SECURITY CONSCIOUSNESS. This is the time we live in; we must live up to it by God’s Grace.

Number tag of a real policeman must be six digits, less than six, is fake.

Only female police officers have their numbers begin with “0”, any policeman with number beginning with “0” is fake.

Every policeman’s nametag is woven to the shirt, no more removable nametags.

A distinction between the normal policeman and the SPY (supernumerary) police personnel, is that a SPY number must be either three or four digits with the word “SPY” boldly inscribed on their uniform shoulder.

Tell your loved ones about this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're like a lot of people, worry just might be one of the things that makes life miserable. It's not uncommon for people to lose sleep, drop weight, develop "nervous tics," suffer ulcers or other gastric disorders, or get pretty sick in other ways, all from worry. Worry just might be one of the elements that feeds a grand variety of mental and emotional disorders, and thought we don't usually diagnose things this way, worry is the cause of countless spiritual maladies as well.
Not long after my wife and I married, we were talking about some events happening in our lives. I shared with her something I had dreamed up while a teenager to help me deal with worry. It goes something like this:
"If you do, you will, but if you don't, you won't. If you're not able, you don't have to."
I suspect that won't make a bit of sense to anyone but me, but it helps me with a framework for thinking things through and deciding which things are worth my deep concern. As I've thought about that little "ditty" in the years since it came to me as a teenager, I've decided it deserves some deeper thought and explanation. I really believe there are kernels of truth there that can help relieve worry.
1. If you do, you will. Now, perhaps that should be, "If you can, you should," or something like that. The point is simply this: things within your ability are the things you can do. If they are beyond your ability, you can choose either to extend your abilities (a real possibility in many cases), or accept the fact that whatever you're dealing with is one of those things that you cannot change. But, it does encourage action when the capability is present. So, if you're facing something you can effect, do so. If not, accept it. Whatever you do, don't get mired down in a pity-party over things you can't change.
2. If you don't you won't. Perhaps that one should be, "If you can't, you shouldn't." I think I just said this above, but it bears repeating. If something is not within your ability, either expand your ability, or accept reality.
3. If you're not able, you don't have to. Is this getting repetitious yet? If you're not able, you're not able. Do you know how many people beat themselves up over things they are not able to change? Do you know how many people waste time worrying about things they really could change? Perhaps the point is this: if something is within your ability, do something about it. If it's not, try changing yourself first, by developing new abilities, then attacking the problem.
Remember one thing above all else -- worry doesn't fix anything. In fact, worry will add an extra burden to any problem. It clouds the mind, wrecks the emotions, and kills the spirit. How does a befuddled, nervous, spiritually dead person accomplish anything worthwhile?
You've got to get a handle on worry. Some people seem more prone to worry than others, but it's possible for anyone to reduce the extremes. Legitimate concern can serve as a powerful motivator. The fact that we care deeply about some issue is a positive. Worry, however, paralyzes us, and leaves us impotent.

Next time you're tempted to worry, get a grip. Try to figure out if you can do something or not. If so, do. If not, don't. Either way, worry isn't the answer.

Much lov.

After reading this you will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, 'Tell me what you see.' 'Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied. Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma The daughter then asked, 'What does it mean, mother?'
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water , they had changed the water.
'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond?
Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Think of this:

Which am I?
Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee? The ground bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the ground coffe bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.
When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level?
How do you handle adversity?
Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

You might want to recommend this site to those who mean something to you;to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down; to those whose friendship you appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life.

May GOD Bless you.

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, "Things aren't always what they seem." The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field. The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen?
The first man had everything, yet you helped him, he accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die. "Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied.

"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find It." "Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead. "Things aren't always what they seem."

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every out come is always to your advantage. . You just might not know it until some time later...

A lesson in blood clot complications and sudden deaths

Niyi Akinnaso and Kofo Odusote

In 2003, former Health Minister, Professor Olikoye Ransome-Kuti, and an American journalist, David Bloom, died suddenly of complications from a blood clot. The former died in his sleep in a London hotel after a long-haul flight from Lagos, while the latter died after spending days cramped in a Humvee in which he was covering the Iraq war. Hundreds of thousands of people have since died of similar complications worldwide. In the United States alone, blood clot complications kill up to 200,000 people yearly; that is more than AIDS and breast cancer combined. Yet, unlike these recognizable killer diseases, early diagnosis of a blood clot is often missed because patients themselves may not notice any significant symptoms until complications arise. Nevertheless, early detection of a blood clot is quite possible and blood clot complications are preventable. The purpose of this article is to educate the public about the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of a blood clot and thus prevent its fatal complications. A blood clot is technically known as a thrombus, which forms in one of the deep veins of the body. This is why this type of clot is technically known as DVT (Deep Vein/Venous Thrombosis).
DVT typically occurs in the veins inside the calf and thigh muscles of the leg. It can also occur in the deep veins of the arm, shoulder, or pelvis. Like visible veins just below the skin, invisible deep veins carry blood towards the heart. When a DVT occurs, blood flow in a deep vein is partially or completely blocked, depending on whether the blood clot partially or completely fills the width of the vein. The blockage often results from sluggish or disturbed blood flow, which gives room for blood to gather or “pool” and to subsequently coagulate or clot. The factors responsible for the formation of a blood clot range from family and health history to environment and lifestyle. Approximately one in every four cases of DVT is due to inherited clotting disorders. This makes family history or genetic inheritance one of the leading risk factors for DVT. People with Blood type A are also at risk for DVT. A person’s own health history is another important factor. People who have had one or more of the following health conditions are at greater risk for DVT: certain types of cancer and cancer therapy; heart failure; COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease); varicose veins; obesity; paralysis; and a stroke. Certain types of medication, such as contraceptive pills and hormone replacement therapy, which contains estrogen, pose an increased risk of DVT. Another risk factor for DVT is age. Although DVT also affects young people, the risk increases with age, particularly after 40. Moreover, a previously diagnosed case of DVT increases the risk of developing the condition again. Reduced movement or immobility, which slows down blood flow in the veins, can also increase the risk of DVT. Factors responsible for reduced movement or immobility include injuries, especially to the leg; surgery; hospitalization; pregnancy; and cramped position. Travellers are one group in whom DVT is becoming more widely reported. It is assumed that there is a particular risk with air travel because of the combination of physical restriction, inactivity, and dehydration, which makes the blood stickier. However, the extent of the correlation between long-distance travel and DVT remains controversial. While some studies show that journeys more than five hours long by car, plane, or train increase the risk of DVT two to fourfold, others insist that there is only about one DVT for every 6,000 journeys that last four hours or more. It is further argued that only a tiny fraction of DVT-related deaths are linked to air travel. If autopsies were performed on many sudden deaths that did not involve any travel at all, it might be discovered that quite a number could be due to DVT. However, DVT deaths associated with air travel tend to get reported widely because of the relatively high social standing of most air travellers. The key point of this controversy is that it makes sense to look to other risk factors for air travelers who have DVT since the vast majority of travellers do not.

What are the symptoms of DVT? Quite often, there are no symptoms at all, especially at the initial stages. As the clot endures, there may be cramps, pain, tenderness, raised skin temperature, and sudden swelling around the area of the clot. The problem with these symptoms is that they easily could be misdiagnosed, because they could be symptoms of something else as well, such as a muscle strain or infection. However, if these symptoms are present, it is better to rule out (or confirm) DVT through two commonly used tests. One is the D-dimer blood test that detects fragments of the by-products of a blood clot. The more fragments are detected, the more likely is there a clot. Another test is an ultrasound scan of the leg, which can often detect a clot in a vein. A PTT (partial thromboplastin time) test is useful in measuring clotting time in blood plasma; it is not useful in detecting a DVT or its specific site. What are the treatment options? If DVT is confirmed, it easily could be treated through medication or surgery. Commonly used anticoagulants are heparin injection (which acts fast) and warfarin tablets (which act more slowly). A doctor should prescribe and monitor the administration of these medications in order to ensure appropriate dosage and effectiveness. A more radical treatment is an operation known as thrombectomy where a large clot is surgically removed. A DVT is itself not life threatening. However, if left untreated, it could lead to fatal complications. A piece of the clot, known as embolus, might “break off” and travel upstream towards the heart, the lung, or the brain. Depending on its size, the embolus can subsequently get stuck in a blood vessel supplying the heart, the lung, or the brain. The result could be partial or complete stoppage of blood flow, which could lead to heart failure, a collapsed lung, or a stroke, each of which could mean instant death. The most common of the three complications is PE (Pulmonary Embolism), involving a stuck embolus in a blood vessel going to a lung. It is estimated that about 1 in 10 people with untreated DVT develop a pulmonary embolus large enough to cause symptoms or death. The symptoms of PE are much more pronounced than those of DVT. Unfortunately, however, the diagnosis is missed far more often than it is made. For one thing, the symptoms are often vague and nonspecific, because they could be associated with other health problems. Moreover, symptoms tend to show up almost when PE complications are irreversible. This is why PE diagnosis is often not made until autopsy in nearly 80 per cent of cases. Initially, PE patients may complain of abdominal pain, high fever, productive cough, or even hiccoughs. After 24-72 hours, a range of symptoms may become evident, including shortness of breath; painful respiration; rapid pulse; sharp chest pain; back pain; shoulder pain; very low blood pressure; anxiety or nervousness; excessive sweating; fainting; lower extremity edema; and cough that may produce a bloody sputum. Since no single patient manifests all these symptoms, it is important that anyone experiencing several of them at once should go to a hospital immediately and request the doctor to rule out PE. Two quick tests could be conducted. A chest CT scan can image blood clots and a lung scan can identify areas of decreased blood flow in the lung tissue, if PE is present. If PE is confirmed (and quickly enough), it might be possible to dissolve or surgically remove the embolus and manage the originating clot. Fibrinolytic therapy (such as alteplase administered through IV infusion) has been found to be particularly effective in combating massive or unstable PE in some patients. Apart from the breaking off of an embolus that could prove fatal, untreated DVT might lead to “post-thrombotic syndrome”, especially if the DVT originated in the calf tissue. Pain, swelling, rashes, and even an ulcer on the skin of the calf may develop as a result of stagnation of blood in the area due to the blockage. How might DVT be prevented in order to avoid its fatal complications? The best tactics are risk assessment and preventive measures. It is important that everyone stay aware of his or her DVT risk factors as discussed above. Those who plan to be off their feet for an extended period of time due to surgery (especially abdominal surgery), hospitalisation requiring prolonged stay in bed, or a long journey should discuss their DVT risk with their doctors. Any of the medications mentioned above could be prescribed as a prophylaxis. In this regard, it should be noted that aspirin may not be helpful at preventing DVT. While aspirin is effective at preventing blood clots in arteries, which can cause strokes and heart attacks, it does not seem to be effective at preventing clots in veins. Besides medication, compression stockings, also known as anti-embolism stockings, might help to reduce the risk of DVT by enhancing the flow of blood through the legs by means of compression. It is advisable for air travellers to wear these stockings, especially if they suspect that they are at risk for DVT. Additional measures are also recommended for those on long journeys, particularly long-haul plane trips, in order to prevent travel-related DVT. The measures include regular exercise of the calf and foot muscles; walking up and down the aisle every hour or so; drinking plenty of water (to avoid dehydration); and avoiding too much alcohol and sleeping tablets as they may induce immobility. A little walk right at the end of the journey is also recommended as a way of getting blood circulation going normally again.

The inspiration for this article came from the loss of a dear friend, Babatunde Amusu, to complications from pulmonary embolism. The article is dedicated to his memory.

CULLED from The PUNCH, Wednesday April 05, 2006

A pastor and a taxi driver both died and went to heaven. St. Peter was at the Pearly gates waiting for them.

'Come with me', said St. Peter to the taxi driver. The taxi driver did as he was told and followed St. Peter to a mansion. It had anything you could imagine from a bowling alley to an Olympic size pool.'Wow, thank you', said the taxi driver.

Next, St. Peter led the pastor to a rugged old shack with a bunk bed and a little old television set.
'Wait, I think you are a little mixed up', said the pastor. 'Shouldn't I be the one who gets the mansion? After all I was a pastor, went to church every day, and preached God's word.'

'Yes, that's true. But during your sermons people slept. When the taxi driver drove, everyone prayed.'

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GOD SAYS NO?

I heard a story recently about a young girl who wrote a letter to a missionary to let him know that her class had been praying for him. But evidently she'd been told not to request a response to her letter because the missionaries were very busy. So, the missionary got a kick out of her letter. It said, "Dear Mr. Missionary. We are praying for you, but we are not expecting an answer."
I can't help but think that that little girl summarized the prayer lives of many Christians. Sometimes we pray without expecting an answer, even though God has assured us that He does indeed hear our prayers. David said, "I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications." (Psalm 116:1). Yet, I think many of us struggle with the nagging question, "Is God really listening to me?" Yes, He heard David; He heard Elijah; and He heard the apostles - but does He hear me? How do we really know that our prayers are answered? Sure, there are times when we see visible results. We may pray for someone who's sick and the next week they get well. But more often, our prayers don't produce flashing "neon" answers. We pray for help in financial problems, and we don't see things get any better. We pray for guidance in making right decisions, but the decisions don't get any easier. We pray for relationships with other people to improve, but they just seem to get worse. How do we as Christians account for that happening? How do we explain the fact that so many of our prayers seem to go "unanswered"? The truth is, for a child of God there is no such thing as an unanswered prayer. Maybe you've heard it said before that God answers prayer in three ways. Sometimes, the answer is "yes." Sometimes, the answer is "no." And sometimes, the answer is "wait a while." It's easy to accept an answer of "yes," but what about when God says, "no"? Let me suggest three principles: 1. First of all, we need to trust God enough to realize that our all-loving, all-powerful Father loves us and has our best interest at heart. So when it seems that God says "no" to our prayers, we must trust Him enough to understand that there must be a good reason for it. It may be beyond our limited ability to understand, but we must simply trust God. 2. Second, we must not forsake God. Disappointment is a dangerous, powerful thing. When we get the feeling that God isn't listening to us, that He has said "no" to some prayer, we have a tendency to feel disappointed in Him. Then Satan whispers to us, "God said He loves you, but He's not here." If we allow that disappointment to harbor in our hearts, it can drive a wedge between us and God. We must continue to be faithful to our responsibility before God. 3. Third, we need to realize that the answer may not be "no," but only "wait a while." God always answers our prayers immediately, but sometimes there's a delay in the giving of the answer and that can be a difficult thing for us to accept. The ability to wait for an answer is one of the marks of maturity. Be willing to let God answer in his own time, in his own way, and in his own power. Many people see God as a divine vending machine in which you deposit one prayer and out pops a blessing. But what happens when you put your money in the Coke machine and nothing comes out? You get angry and you kick the Coke machine. So it's not surprising that such a view of God and prayer leads to disappointment when God says no. I believe that we need to foster an entirely different view of prayer from that one. Our God is the Great God of the Universe, the Creator of all things that exists other than Himself. For us to even venture to speak to Him is presumptuous. For us to ask Him to pay attention to our requests and then hope for Him to meet them requires bold expectation. In fact, such would be arrogance if it were not for the simple fact that God tells us to do just that. Looking from the proper perspective, we will not ask "What happens when God says no?" but rather "What happens when God says yes?" That the God of the heavens would listen to us and our needs is a great testimony to His great love for us; and it is that love that will lead Him to say no from time to time. At those times, we must trust Him knowing that he loves us and desires what is best for us. We must never forsake Him nor our duty toward Him. And we must realize that what we interpret to be an answer of "no" may just be God telling us to wait a while. "This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." (I John 5:14)

A little boy was selling newspapers on the corner, the people were in and out of the cold. The little boy was so cold that he wasn't trying to sell many papers. He walked up to a policeman and said,"Mister, you wouldn't happen to know where a poor boy could find a warm place to sleep tonight would you?You see, I sleep in a box up around the corner there and down the alley and it's awful cold in there for tonight.Sure would be nice to have a warm place to stay."The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, "You go down the street to that big white house and you knock on the door. When they come out the door you just say John 3:16, and they will let you in." So he did. He walked up the steps and knocked on the door, and a lady answered. He looked up and said, "John 3:16." The lady said, "Come on in, Son." She took him in and she sat him down in a split bottom rocker in front of a great big old fireplace, and she went off. The boy sat there for a while and thought to himself: John 3:16...I don't understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm.Later she came back and asked him "Are you hungry?" He said, "Well, just a little. I haven't eaten in a couple of days, and I guess I could stand a little bit of food," The lady took him in the kitchen and sat him down to a table full of wonderful food. He ate and ate until he couldn't eat any more. Then he thought to himself: John 3:16...Boy, I sure don't understand it but it sure makes a hungry boy full. She took him upstairs to a bathroom to a huge bathtub filled with warm water, and he sat there and soaked for a while. As he soaked, he thought to himself: John 3:16...I sure don't understand it, but it sure makes a dirty boy clean. You know, I've not had a bath, a real bath, in my whole life. The only bath I ever had was when I stood in front of that big old fire hydrant as they flushed it out.The lady came in and got him. She took him to a room, tucked him into a big old feather bed, pulled the covers up around his neck, kissed him goodnight and turned out the lights. As he lay in the darkness and looked out the window at the snow coming down on that cold night, he thought to himself: John 3:16...I don't understand it but it sure makes a tired boy rested. The next morning the lady came back up and took him down again to that same big table full of food. After he ate, she took him back to that same big old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace and picked up a big old Bible. She sat down in front of him and looked into his young face."Do you understand John 3:16?" she asked gently. He replied, "No, Ma'am, I don't. The first time I ever heard it was last night when the policeman told me to use it,"She opened the Bible to John 3:16 and began to explain to him about Jesus. Right there, in front of that big old fireplace,he gave his heart and life to Jesus. He sat there and thought: John 3:16 -- don't understand it, but it sure makes a lost boy feel safe.
You know, I have to confess I don't understand it either, how God was willing to send His Son to die for me, and how Jesus would agree to do such a thing. I don't understand the agony of the Father and every angel in heaven as they watched Jesus suffer and die. I don't understand the intense love for ME that kept Jesus on the cross till the end.I don't understand it, but it sure does make life worth living.John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

When God created woman he was working late on the 6th day
An angel came by and said: “Why spend so much time on that one?”

And the Lord answered:“Have you seen all the specifications I have to meet to shape her ?"
“She must be washable, but not made of plastic, have more than 200 moving parts which all must be replaceable and she must function on all kinds of food, she must be able to embrace several kids at the same time, give a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken hearth and she must do all this with only two hands”.

The angel was impressed.

“Just two hands....impossible!“

And this is the standard model?!

“Too much work for one day....wait until tomorrow and then complete her“.

“I will not”, said the Lord. “I am so close to complete this creation, which will be the favourite of my heart”.

“She cures herself when sick and she can work 18 hours a day”.

The angel came nearer and touched the woman.

“But you have made her so soft, Lord” “She is soft", said the Lord, “But I have also made her strong. You can’t imagine what she can endure and overcome.“

“Can she think?" the angel asked.

The Lord answered:
“Not only can she think, she can reason and negotiate."

The angel touched the woman's cheek....
“Lord, it seems this creation is leaking! You have put too many burdens on her.”

“She is not leaking....it’s a tear” the lord corrected the angel

“What’s it for?" asked the angel.

And the Lord said:
“Tears are her way of expressing grief, her doubts, her love, her loneliness, her suffering and her pride.”

n
This made a big impression on the angel; “Lord, you are genius.
You thought of everything. The woman is indeed marvellous!"

Indeed she is!
Woman has strength that amazes man. She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens.
She holds happiness, love and opinions.
She smiles when feeling like screaming.
She sings when she feels like crying, cries when she is happy and laughs when she is afraid.

She fights for what she believes in.
Stand up against injustice.
She doesn’t take “no” for an answer, when she can see a better solution. She gives herself so her family can thrive. She takes her friend to the doctor if she is afraid.
Her love is unconditional.

She cries when her kids are victorious. She is happy when her friends do well.
She is glad when she hears of a birth or a wedding.

Her heart is broken when a next of kin or friend dies.
But she finds the strength to get on with life.

She knows that a kiss and a hug can heal a broken heart.
There is only one thing wrong with her
She forgets what she is worth...

Heart Attack

Let's say it's 6.15pm and you're driving home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job.
You're really tired, and frustrated……

YOU ARE REALLY STRESSED AND UPSET ….
Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw.
You are only five miles from the hospital nearest your home.
Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far

YOU HAVE BEEN TRAINED IN CPR, BUT THE GUY THAT CONDUCTED THE COURSE DID NOT TELL YOU HOW TO PERFORM IT ON YOURSELF !!!

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE?

SINCE MANY PEOPLE ARE ALONE WHEN THEY SUFFER A HEART ATTACK, WITHOUT HELP, THE PERSON WHOSE HEART IS BEATING IMPROPERLY AND WHO BEGINS TO FEEL FAINT, HAS ONLY ABOUT 10 SECONDS LEFT BEFORE LOSING CONSCIOUS

ANSWER:

  • DO NOT PANIC, BUT START COUGHING REPEATEDLY AND VERY VIGOROUSLY.
  • A DEEP BREATH SHOULD BE TAKEN BEFORE EACH COUGH, THE COUGH MUST BE DEEP AND PROLONGED, AS WHEN PRODUCING SPUTUM FROM DEEP INSIDE THE CHEST.
  • A BREATH AND A COUGH MUST BE REPEATED ABOUT EVERY TWO SECONDS WITHOUT LET-UP UNTIL HELP ARRIVES, OR UNTIL THE HEART IS FELT TO BE BEATING NORMALLY AGAIN
  • DEEP BREATHS GET OXYGEN INTO THE LUNGS AND COUGHING MOVEMENTS SQUEEZE THE HEART AND KEEP THE BLOOD CIRCULATING. THE SQUEEZING PRESSURE ON THE HEART ALSO HELPS IT REGAIN NORMAL RHYTHM. IN THIS WAY, HEART ATTACK VICTIMS CAN GET TO A HOSPITAL

TELL AS MANY OTHER PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE ABOUT THIS.
IT COULD SAVE THEIR LIVES !!! DON'T EVER THINK THAT YOU ARE NOT PRONE TO HEART ATTACK AS YOUR AGE IS LESS THAN 25 OR 30. NOWADAYS DUE TO THE CHANGE IN
LIFE STYLE, HEART ATTACK IS FOUND AMONG PEOPLE OF ALL AGE GROUPS.

GOD changed the status of David from a shepherd boy to king of Israel,
Esther from a slave girl to a Queen.
That same God will give you a new designation very soon in Jesus name .
In chemistry he turned water to wine, in biology he was born without the normal conception, in physics he disapproved the law of gravity when he ascended into heaven, in economics he disapproved the law of diminishing return by feeding 5000 men with two fishes & 5 loaves of bread, in history he is the beginning & the end, in Government he said that he shall be called wonderful counsellor, prince of peace, in religion he said no one comes to the father except through him so who is he .(JESUS). Join me and lets celebrate him, he is worthy
BEWARE:
LUV disappoints,
SEX frustrates,
SARS is dangerous,
AIDS is real,
BOOZE intoxicates,
DRUGS kill .... but JESUS saves...and He is the only one with the power to change your status in life

My Attorney

Here is a man's story:

After living what I felt was a "decent" life, my time on earth came to the end. The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a courthouse. The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table. As I looked around I saw the "prosecutor." He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me. He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen. I sat down and looked to my left and there sat My Attorney, a kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to me, I felt I knew Him.The corner door flew open and there appeared the Judge in full flowing robes. He commanded an awesome presence as He moved across the room. I couldn't take my eyes off of Him. As He took His seat behind the bench, He said, "Let us begin." The prosecutor rose and said, "My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this man belongs in hell." He proceeded to tell of lies I told, things I stole, and in the past when I cheated others. Satan told of other horrible perversions once in my life and the more he spoke, the further down in my seat I sank. I was so embarrassed, I couldn't look at anyone, even my own Attorney, as the Devil told of sins even I completely forgotten about. As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at My Attorney who sat there silently not offering any form of defense at all. I know I was guilty of those things, but I did some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I'd done? Satan finished with a fury and said, "This man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise." When it was His turn, My Attorney first asked if He might approach the bench. The Judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned Him to come forward. As He got up and started walking, I was able to see Him in His full splendor and> majesty. I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior. He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge, "Hi, Dad," then He turned to address the court. "Satan was correct in saying this man sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And, yes, the wage of sin is death, and this man deserves to be punished." Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, "However, I died on the cross so this person might have eternal life and he accepted Me as his Savior, so he is Mine." My Lord continued with, "His name is written in the Book of Life and no one can snatch him from Me. Satan still does not understand yet. This man is not to be given justice, but rather mercy." As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at His Father and said,"There is nothing else that needs to be done. I've done it all." The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The following words bellowed from His lips... "This man is free The penalty for him was already paid in full. Case dismissed" As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving, "I won't give up, I will win the next one." I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where to go next, "Have you ever lost a case?" Christ lovingly smiled and said, "Everyone that comes to Me and asked Me to represent them, received the same verdict as you, "PAID IN FULL."

There once was a rich man who was near death. He was very grieved because he had worked so hard for his money and he wanted to be able to take it with him to heaven. So he began to pray that he might be able to take some of his wealth with him.
An angel hears his plea and appears to him, "Sorry, but you can't take your wealth with you."
The man implores the angel to speak to God to see if He might bend the rules.
The man continues to pray that his wealth could follow him. The angel reappears and informs the man that God has decided to allow him to take one suitcase with him. Overjoyed, the man gathers his largest suitcase and fills it with pure gold bars and places it beside his bed.
Soon afterward the man dies and shows up at the Gates of Heaven to greet St. Peter. Seeing the suitcase Peter says, "Hold on, you can't bring that in here!"
But the man explains to him that he has permission and asks him to verify his story with the Lord. Sure enough, Peter checks and comes back saying, "You're right. You are allowed one carry-on bag, but I'm supposed to check its contents before letting it through."
Peter opens the suitcase to inspect the worldly items that the man found too precious to leave behind and exclaims, "You brought pavement?!?!"

BEWARE OF ROBBERS IN LUNATIC CHARACTER

There is a woman who acts like a lunatic in one of the high brow areas in Lagos. This woman wears dirty clothes, she uses numerous black nylon rubber tore into pieces to wrap her two legs to the extent that the legs will be very big as if she is suffering from elephantiasis. Sheequally carries a big basket wrapped with nylon on her head. This woman will be moving around her chosen area where she and her colleagues in crime have targeted to strike. Her all time motive was to study the types of vehicles ( the owner ofthe house uses) and the time the owner of the targeted house enters and the time he/she leaves the house. Be it under the sun or rain ,this woman will be moving round or at best stay under any available shed.
At last this woman was arrested shortly before christmas with two Pistols and a Sub-Machine-Gun in her kitty ! What led to her arrest was the confessional statement of a notorious armed robber that was arrested at the SCID,Panti. The suspected robber claimed that the woman is their armourer (i.e. the person in charge of arms). She equally acts as their informant on which place to strike. She too has her own share of any butty after their deadly operation.
The essence of this write-up is that,we should be vigilant at all time. If anybody is by the gate of your fence acting like a lunatic or begging for arms,it is better you send them parking,no matter how young or old. He/she could be on this type of an un-godly mission.

Note:It is better to be safe than sorry, always learn form others mistakes.

STROKE

Who knows whose live you could save?

Let's Put Our Hearts And Minds To It...

STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters...

STROKE IDENTIFICATION: During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 PM, Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this... A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough. RECOGNIZING A STROKE Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps, STR . Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *Ask the person to TALK . to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. . . It is sunny out today)

R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

{NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue... if the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke} If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 9-1-1 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher. A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

Adam was hanging around the garden of Eden feeling very lonely.
So, God asked him, "What's wrong with you?"
Adam said he didn't have anyone with whom he could speak.
God said that He was going to make Adam a companion and that it would be a woman.

He said, "This pretty lady will gather food for you, she will cook for you, and when you discover clothing, she will wash it for you
.
She will always agree with every decision you make and she will not nag you, and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement.

She will praise you! She will bear your children and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them.

She will NEVER have a headache and will freely give you love and passion whenever you need it."
Adam asked God, "What will a woman like this cost?"
God replied, "An arm and a leg."
Then Adam asked, "What can I get for a rib?"
Of course the rest is history ... !
When you are cheap.......Heehee!

Ladies,beware.

8th March 2007 @ 9.09am

THIS STORY WAS RECEIVED FROM TWO DIFFERENT WOMEN.A woman said she gave cash dash to a beggar who looked the usual picture of the very poor and suffering along the road. This woman unfortunately lives alone with her two children. That same night, while she was sleeping, this woman woke up after she felt a strange presence in her room. Lo and behold, it was the same man she gave dash money to on the street. Fear alone would not allow her scream but when she picked up courage to scream, the man just told her not to bother as no one would hear her scream.Apparently, he had spiritually sealed off the whole room to be sound proof. This man proceeded to RAPE and abuse the woman sexually. Afterwards, when he was done, he told her this evil act was for him to collect her luck, progress in life and for anything else he wants. The Second woman told of how she gave N20.00 to a beggar along the road. This woman on the other hand is married and lives in a Face me I Face you yard.A few days later she went to take her bath during a clear afternoon, sad thing, her husband was just within shouting distance talking to the neighbours. While she was having her bath, this same man she gave N20 naira to appeared before her inside the bathroom, she was so shocked and angry and at the same time wondering how he got to be there............in her yard; inside the bathroom! She screamed and shouted for him to get out of there, the man was just laughing. At that point she started screaming for help, screaming for her husband to come and help her. That's when this evil man told her that all her screaming and shouting was just inside the bathroom as the sound she was making will not reach anyone outside the bathroom. And then this evil man RAPED AND SEXUALLY assaulted her right inside the bathroom. Afterwards she was able to come out of the bathroom crying and telling everyone what had happened. The poor husband felt so angry, all the neighbours could not understand what she was telling them or how that could happen when they were just ear short away from the bathroom. MY ADVICE.......TAKE YOUR MONEY TO CHURCH OR CHARITY HOMES!
