Is AID truly real?

Many will wonder at my question, I asked because some or should I say a lot of people still don’t believe that aid is alive and kicking. I was listening to a radio programme on a trip I made last week, a lady aged 23years was being interviewed about her HIV status and she openly confessed to being positive and ready to declare it anywhere simply because she did not want other youngsters to make the mistake she made. She went on to lament the difficulties she had encountered since declaring her HIV status, friends abandoned her, and her parents/family members forbade her to go on air to publicly discuss it, telling her she had brought enough disgrace on the family.
This opened up discussion in the bus where some group said she was paid to do it like you pay people to advertise some drugs while others just asked if it’s really true that AIDS IS REAL? For others like this group of people out there, I think I have this to say to you;

  • Don’t let it happen to you before you become a believer; a lot of people that has AIDS were just like you, who never believe until it happened to them.
  • Take all the necessary precautions, because if you don’t, you may live to regret it.

It is also important to know that equipping ourselves with knowledge creates awareness, but being aware is not also enough. For it to be effective and have a positive influence on lives it must be converted to responsible practices…we must be accountable for the choices we make and whilst we make these choices, we must remember that someone who looks up to us is watching. What we do affects many more than just ourselves.
Someone once said and I quote "a
ll it takes for evil to thrive is for good to remain silent".
In like manner, all it takes for HIV to thrive is for you and I to remain passive. Please know this gospel, preach it and help others to believe it.

Until next time.
